Pre-Masters

Here you can find out about the structure of the Pre-Masters programme.

Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason mastery demands all of a person.

Albert Einstein

The Pre-Master and the Pre-MBA courses are designed for students who wish to enter a postgraduate degree programme in a UK university. The course is prescribed and provides students with the academic language needed at postgraduate level as well as teaching students how to add elements of criticality to their work, and how to run a primary research project.

The Pre-Masters course is aimed at level 6 of the RQF (the same as the final year of a bachelor’s degree).

You will have 16 lessons of 80 minutes per week. As the course progresses, the focus will change as follows:

  • Term 1: General and Academic English language and skills, preparing university applications, reflection on your professional and academic career.
  • Term 2: Developing an independent research project, building communication and critical thinking skills for IELTS and university.

Although the course does not include any subject specialist modules, you will set your own projects and focus areas in the Pre-Masters modules, allowing you to investigate areas of particular relevance to your development and future plans.

You can find out more about individual modules on the main Your Course page.
